District of Columbia Child Support Calculator
Estimate your child support obligations in District of Columbia using the income shares model. Understand how support is calculated, what factors matter, and what to expect. Updated for 2026.
Under D.C. Code 16-916.01, DC uses the Income Shares model for child support calculations. The combined adjusted gross income of both parents and the number of eligible children are used to determine the basic child support obligation from a schedule. Each parent's share is based on their proportionate share of combined income. Alimony paid by either parent to the other is deducted from gross income before computing child support, while alimony received is added to gross income.
